Hailing from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Polvo established themselves as a mainstay of noise rock from their origin in the early 90s. Capitalizing on dissonant, Southeast Asian flavored guitar and polyrhythmic drumming, Polvo’s music is both oblique and poppy. Twangy riffs and reverbed-out licks are the tools of Polvo’s trade, which spans six studio albums. After disbanding in 1998, Polvo took up instruments again a decade later and released two albums. Even after ten years of inactivity, Polvo still proves to be a prolific name in the noise rock community.
