Sleeping at Last, having once been an alternative rock trio, is now frontman Ryan O’Neal’s independent cross-genre orchestral vehicle for exploring new ground in music, primarily by way of unique concept albums. O’Neal brings contemporary music into a holistic realm with projects such as “Atlas,” which dedicates a song to each ocean, each major body of the solar system, each cardinal direction, etc. The first stage in production of these albums is months of research; much time is dedicated to learning about the subject of a song before composition and lyric writing come about. His most recent endeavor, “Atlas: Senses,” portrays each of the five major senses with a song that encompasses the beauty we experience vis a vis the respective sense.
