The Fall are an English post-punk band formed in 1976 by lead singer Mark E. Smith. Since formation, they have changed their line-up multiple times and have released over 30 albums (not including compilations and singles.) Putting out almost one album a year, The Fall have a sound like no other in this genre and have carved themselves out a special place and cult following using things such as Smith’s strangely unique voice and heavy driving repetition. Notably, The Fall are even John Peel’s favorite band and have recorded 24 Peel Sessions- more than any other artist to be featured on the program.
