LSU junior forward Craig Victor has been dismissed from LSU’s basketball team, coach Johnny Jones announced on Thursday in a press release.

Victor, who transferred from Arizona to Louisiana’s flagship university in January 2015 to be “closer to home,” missed the first three games this season for violation of team rules. The extent of “violation” is unclear.

“We are obviously disappointed that we had to take this action,” Jones said. “It’s a privilege and an honor to wear the LSU uniform. When you commit to being part of our basketball program, there are expectations and standards that we demand from our players. Those expectations go beyond the basketball court.”

Victor played in eight games this season and averaged 10.5 points per game.
