LSU coach Ed Orgeron will receive a proposed, one-time supplemental payment of $675,000 for services as interim coach, according to documents obtained by The Daily Reveille.
LSU’s Board of Supervisors is scheduled to meet on Dec. 9 to approve the lump-sum payment for Orgeron, who served as LSU’s interim head coach since Sept. 25.
Orgeron’s original contract as defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator included an original salary of $600,000.
Orgeron, who served as LSU’s interim head coach for seven games, was named interim coach on Sept. 25 after the firing of Les Miles and finished 5-2 as head coach. LSU athletic director Joe Alleva promoted Orgeron as full-time head coach on Nov. 26.
