Students have a chance to see the Tiger Band and the Music School Wind Ensemble in action Thursday and Friday when the School of Music hosts the annual Tigerama.
The event, in its 22nd year at the University, features the full band with the Colorguard, the Golden Girls and the Wind Ensemble performing highlights from the season, said Associate Director of Bands Linda Moorhouse.
Moorhouse said the purpose of the event, held in the Union Theater, is to emphasize the top musical performers on campus and give students a chance to see the bands up-close.
“We hope students come and enjoy what [LSU Bands] offers and see what we’re all about,” Moorhouse said.
Moorhouse said the show brings a large turnout of students and community members. Groups from elementary and high schools even attend the event, making it a recruiting tool for the School of Music.
During the almost two-hour show, the bands hold separate performances on stage. The Tiger Band even marches through the theater.
