LSUPD charged an individual Oct. 29 for driving while intoxicated after he refused to submit to a breathalyzer test.
Police charged Brandon Hays, 21, of 13574 Minou Ave., Baton Rouge, at 6:30 a.m. with charges of DWI second offense and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
LSUPD dispatched an officer to a traffic crash on Dalrymple Drive. Hays allegedly crashed into a parked car near the University Lab School.
The officer made contact with the individual and detected several signs of intoxication.
The individual performed poorly on a series of field sobriety tests, said LSUPD Lt. Lawrence Rabalais.
Police transported the individual to LSUPD for a breathalyzer test where he refused to give a sample.
Officers booked Hays into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the charges above, Rabalais said.
