Skirts may not seem like a fashion trend at first glance, but during Wednesday’s student government elections, skirts dominated the Quad as ladies on the multiple campaigns worked for votes. They said they wore skirts to look classy, elegant and more feminine to present their ideas with a more austere demeanor. Jeans have been exhausted, and skirts shouldn’t be limited to church and lavish events. The item can be included into every woman’s weekly apparel. Skirt are a sophisticated, sexy way to be chic and exude confidence.
“They’re very feminine and fun to wear. Some girls may think of them as a hassle, but I don’t. I like them better than pants.”
Emily Burris,
undecided freshman
“I guess they aren’t popular because we’re in class, and it’s kind of difficult to sit with a skirt. But, I’m comfortable with it. It’s fun to wear every now and then.”
Denelle Walker,
speech communication freshman
“I like skirts because of the hot weather, but I think girls don’t wear them more because they are self-conscious about their legs.”
Ashley Wethey,
mass communication sophomore
