Student Government is making the Microsoft Office software program available to University students at a reduced cost of $57.
Guy Pyrzak, a computer science senior and SG director of information technology, said SG and the Office of Computing Services have been looking into offering the program since last fall. After working through legal issues, the program is now being made available to students.
“The Office of Budget and Planning approved Auxiliary Services to purchase it and sell it to students at the cost it cost them,” Pyrzak said.
In addition to Microsoft Office, students also can purchase Microsoft XP and Windows operating system upgrades.
The programs can be purchased at the Tiger Card Office in the Union.
