Students and faculty will be able to hear Chancellor Mark Emmert discuss the proposed instructor cuts in the College of Arts and Sciences and have their questions answered at Thursday’s “Chats with the Chancellor.”
The University announced plans last month to cut 60 instructors from the English and math departments over the next three years in an effort to have more professors at the University.
With the controversy, Student Government decided the issue would be an appropriate topic for this month’s discussion.
Student fees and diversity at the University were the topics at the two previous chats.
The program is a Student Government-sponsored initiative to allow students and faculty to discuss University issues with Emmert each month.
The discussion will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Union’s Atchafalaya Room. All students and faculty are invited to attend.
