SG bus trip makes for a good time
On any given day, I can rest assured that I will hear at least one student say, “What does SG do for me?” Being the Finance Committee Chairman in the LSU Student Senate, I usually am forced to give those students a long list of SG initiatives. Until this past Saturday, however, this list was purely mechanical.
But something strange happened this weekend: I attended my first SG Bus Trip. The SG Bus Trip to Ole Miss was, by far, one of the best times of my undergraduate career here at LSU.
Bonding and getting to know students whom I would never have met had I not gone to Ole Miss is something that I will always remember, and then celebrating another LSU victory was the perfect end to a great day. Having the opportunity to mingle with other fans and students was definitely worth the long bus trip.
As a student leader in SG, I feel that we could do more for the students. With that being said, the SG Bus Trip is a huge step in the right direction.
With this program along with the implementation of others in the future, SG is well on its way to becoming the organization that we as students deserve to have: an organization that serves us as students first.
