A grand jury indicted serial killer suspect Derrick Todd Lee on first-degree murder charges in a Lafayette, La. courtroom Wednesday in the murder of Trineisha Dene Colomb.
Lee is accused of killing six south Louisiana women – Gina Wilson Green, Charlotte Murray Pace, Pam Kinamore, Carrie Lynn Yoder, Geralyn DeSoto and Colomb. Colomb is the fourth known victim.
Colomb’s body was found in November 2002 in Scott, La. Evidence indicated she was beaten to death. Police have said DNA evidence links Lee to all six murders.
In June, a grand jury in Baton Rouge indicted Lee for the murder of University graduate student Charlotte Murray Pace. He faces the death penalty if convicted in that case.
Lee is set to stand trial March 1, 2004, in Baton Rouge for Pace’s murder. Prosecutors did not say on Wednesday when Lee’s trial for Colomb’s murder will begin.
