Ron Brown, a University Relations employee, turned himself in to LSUPD Aug. 4 on child pornography charges.
Brown disappeared June 24 after a University Computing Services employee and an officer seized a computer and other electronic media from Brown’s Denham Springs home.
Brown last was heard from June 26, when he contacted his wife and told her she could find their Toyota mini-van in a Natchez, Miss., mall parking lot.
LSUPD Lt. Sherman Dickerson said Brown had two warrants issued for him. One warrant was from 19th Judicial District Court for child pornography, and the other was from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office for indecent behavior with a juvenile.
According to a previous Reveille article, police issued a warrant for Brown’s arrest in late June after authorities allegedly found child pornography on his office computer.
Dickerson said Brown was arrested and booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Willie Graves said his office would deal with their charges against Brown when Baton Rouge charges have been dealt with.
Brown worked for University Relations since 1995. He was most recently the science editor for the department.
Brown’s attorney, Anthony Bertucci, could not be reached for comment by press time.
