Resident sees apartment differently
This is in response to the article boasting about Sterling University Crescent apartments in the etc. section that was released last Thursday.
Sterling is the worst apartment complex I have lived in throughout my college years.
First of all, the $285 apartment is really a two bedroom that four people share. Sure, you only pay $285, but that is a lot of money considering you will be sharing a bedroom and bathroom with someone else.
Yes, there are security alarms, but as Sterling is famous for, you have to pay an additional cost for this service.
The jacuzzi is filled with green, diseased water, so use it at your own risk.
The workout room does indeed have machines, but most of them are broken.
The same problem exists for the computer room and the printers and copy machines located there. All of the events for their tenants are also available to the public, free of charge.
Throughout the year, I was promised new furniture without holes or missing legs. That day never came. Everything was either broken or became clogged, including my bathtub in which the water came to my shins everytime I took a shower.
After moving out, you will be charged for everything from the missing knobs on washers (that were already missing when you moved in), to the cleaning fee, even when the apartment was left spotless.
The management at Sterling appears to only care about their own pocketbooks. At the end of the article, Sterling was compared to a country club. I would only compare it to living in the slums at the mercy of a slum lord.
