The results for the final round of Student Government elections were announced Wednesday night.
Amanda Callais, SG elections commissioner, announced the runoff results for campus-wide positions — University Court Justice and Athletic Council — and Senate seats for the College of Agriculture, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Basic Sciences and the College of Education.
A sparse crowd gathered in Howe-Russell to hear Callais announce the results.
Candidates Tony Corbett and Robert Lay, from “the new balance” ticket, won the campus-wide positions.
Corbett won the position on University Court and Lay won a position on the Athletic Council.
Also, several candidates from the “FOREVER LSU” ticket won a Senate seat for the College of Agriculture, seats for the College of Arts and Sciences and a seat for the College of Education.
“The new balance” ticket won the two Senate seats for the College of Basic Sciences and one seat for the College of Arts and Sciences and the two seats for College of Education.
Callais said 842 students cast runoff votes at eight stations on campus Wednesday.
“Which I think is pretty good since we only had five candidates,” she said.
Callais said she had only expected about 500 students to vote in Wednesday’s runoff election.
