Strobe lights flickered on the dance floor as David Burns from The Real World Seattle and Nick Haggart from Road Rules 13 got the party started last Friday at Splash, hosting their National Lampoon’s Reality Bar Crawl event.
Scandalous wet underwear contests, a raunchy kissing game, provocative dance moves and steamy make-out sessions were captured by camera crews and could potentially go on the Reality Bar Crawl DVD.
University students piled into the bar to catch a glimpse of the two MTV celebrities, while some got a chance to get even closer — a handful engaged in gratuitous make out sessions while the cameras continued to roll.
Russ Lowry, a partner with The National Lampoon’s Reality Bar Crawl, said there are several reasons for the crawl.
“The first purpose is to make a video diary of their lives before, during and after the show,” Lowry said. “Also, we take them to their fans so they can interact with them and learn more about ther lives than what they can see on TV. They can talk and have a beer with their favorite reality stars.”
Lowry said some of the best locations are in small unknown cities with large universities.
Lowry said the celebrities are basically there to host the show and encourage the crowd to do crazy things to make the video exciting.
“The people who come to the events are the stars of the DVD,” Lowry said.
