An East Baton Rouge court has selected a 12-member jury for whatsome may consider the biggest murder trial Baton Rouge has seen inyears.
Suspected serial killer Derrick Todd Lee is set to stand trialon Monday for the murder of LSU graduate student Charlotte MurrayPace.
Authorities have charged Lee, 35, of St. Francisville, La. withfirst degree murder. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty inthe case.
Pace was killed in her Sharlo Avenue townhouse May 31, 2002.
The jury is made up of five men and seven women. Ten jurors arewhite, along with one black man and one black woman.
The original jury selected on Wednesday changed Thursday afterstate District Judge Richard Anderson removed a white man from thejury panel because he teaches the son of Pam Kinamore, one ofLee’s alleged victims.
Anderson moved a white woman, who was selected to be one of fouralternates, up to serve on the jury.
Anderson said the trial will proceed Monday at 10 a.m. withthree alternates.
