LSUPD has obtained an arrest warrant for the suspicious manpolice say has been posing as a photographer and soliciting womenon campus.
LSUPD Maj. Ricky Adams said they have identified the man as BenDaranda of 740 West Chimes St., Apt. 23 in Baton Rouge. Policeobtained an arrest and search warrant for Daranda for “RemainingAfter Being Forbidden.”
Adams said LSUPD arrested Daranda in 1992 on allegations ofsexual battery, after allegedly luring a victim into a building andfondling her.
Adams said the University advised Daranda not to return tocampus unless he first was cleared for official business.
“He has been arrested before and been told not to come back,”Adams said.
Adams said at least seven women have complained to LSUPD aboutDaranda approaching them in a suspicious manner.
According to the Louisiana State Police Sex Offender and ChildPredator Registry, Daranda was convicted in 2001 for themolestation of a juvenile in Rapides Parish, La.
