Following a National Championship season, tickets for LSUfootball games will be hard to come by this year.
LSU football season tickets have sold at a record pace this yearwith 66,495 total tickets sold — a complete sell out, said LSUTicket Manager Brian Broussard in a LSU Sports Information pressrelease.
The previous record for season ticket sales came in 2002 whenthe University sold 63,763 season tickets. That sales rush occurredafter the Tigers won the 2001 Southeastern Conference title andwere champions of the 2002 Nokia Sugar Bowl.
While season ticket packages are sold out for non-students,student ticket packages currently are for sale.
Students can register for tickets based on the number of credithours earned. All current students will be eligible to register onJuly 28 and incoming freshmen may register on Aug. 2.
Currently, juniors and seniors with 60 credit hours or more mayregister for tickets, according to LSU Sports Information.
Registering for tickets online does not guarantee studentstickets in the fall. In order to receive tickets, students must beregistered as full-time.
General admission student season ticket packages cost $49 andreserved group seating ticket packages cost $77. To receivereserved group seating, registered on-campus groups must contactthe Office of Student Organizations and Campus Activities.
Student tickets only are available online throughwww.lsusports.net. Tickets will remain available online until thestudent section has sold out.
Student season tickets will be available for pick-up beginningin mid-August at the LSU Ticket Office and all students will needto present a valid LSU ID.
The University will send out a broadcast e-mail in early Augustexplaining procedures for picking up tickets, purchasing seasontickets for guests and spouses and purchasing tickets for awaygames.
The football team opens their season on Sept. 4 at Tiger Stadiumagainst Oregon State. The game will begin at 5 p.m. and will betelevised by ESPN.
Season ticket packages include tickets for seven home gamesagainst Oregon State, Arkansas State, Mississippi State, TroyState, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Ole Miss.
