Hi. My name is Benjamin Leger (you can call me Ben), and I will be your editor-in-chief this summer. Good to meet you. I’m not into writing personal essays or anything about me. Heck, I even loathed putting together a resume just because I felt like I was trying to brag.
I apparently am the boss around here, although I’m known to wear many hats — writer, photographer, designer. Every other Thursday this summer I’ll be wearing the hat of a columnist.
This means I get to pontificate about the goings-on at LSU and in the community. Mostly, I’m just trying to educate myself on important issues in Baton Rouge. But if I happen to educate someone else along the way then, that’s good I guess.
Weird facts: I don’t like compliments, which I’ve heard will work in my favor because editors don’t receive them. Although I do enjoy Christmas and birthday parties, I don’t like giving or receiving gifts. Yes, that’s odd. But if you ever feel the need to buy me something, just know that I’d prefer if you donate to a charity or plant a tree in my name and tell me about it later.
I like being near the water, in it or on it. I also like the Chipmunk movie, where they floated around the world in hot-air balloons. That was cool.
Look at that, I somehow managed to write a bio about myself without actually giving you any clue of my personal history. Eh, I guess I’ll let “The Frog Capitol” speak for itself.
