The LSU Men’s Basketball Team returned home to face Northwestern State after beating the University of Central Florida in 3 overtimes in a game played in West Virginia.
Black Friday, and the LSU Men’s Basketball Team was ready to give their fans some holiday joy. At the start of the games, the Demons came in strong, ready to battle the Tigers for a win. Luckily for LSU fans, Jordan Sears ability to make three point throws kept the tigers in the game.
“Jordan is shooting the ball exceptionally well from behind the three point line, and we want to see him continue to do that,” said Coach McMahon.
Northwestern lead 26-25 in a low scoring first half. Things would change for the second.
Starting the second half, it was all LSU. The Tigers scored 17 points in a row, giving them a comfortable lead for the rest of the game, being really dominant in offense and defense.
“We scored 84 points after halftime in the last time, and I think we scored 52 after halftime today. I thought in the second half we were much more composed and make better decisions.”
The players understand how important it is for them to perform at the high level, as they’ve shown in this past couple of games.
“It shows our character, really greedy team. It helps us further down cause it shows that we are battle tested,” said Sears.
LSU finished the game, giving a great show for the fans who showed up ready to finish the holiday with a win.
The Tigers improve their record to 6-1 with a solid start of the season, with its only lost being against undefeated Pittsburgh. Their next rival will be Florida State in the SEC / ACC challenge.
