LSU is gearing up for its annual Homecoming celebration, a beloved tradition dating back to 1925.
For the rest of this week, the university will host a series of exciting events for students, alumni and the broader community, all culminating in the announcement of Homecoming King and Queen during the football game against Ole Miss on Saturday.
Here’s what LSU officially has planned for the week:
Tuesday
Festivities through the week include events like the Jumbo Game Night on the Parade Grounds from 5-8 p.m., hosted by Student Government. This night of oversized games and friendly competition is a Homecoming staple.
Wednesday
October 9, features the highly anticipated National Pan-Hellenic Council Step Show. The event will be held at the River Center Theatre in downtown Baton Rouge at 7 p.m. Purchase your tickets through Ticketmaster.
Thursday
October 10, kicks off with the annual Greek Life Lawn Decor, with colorful displays along Sorority Row beginning at 9 a.m.
In the evening, the Global Community Center Homecoming Gala will be held from 5-8 p.m. at 3365 Dalrymple Drive, celebrating LSU’s rich Homecoming history. Open to all students, this formal event features hors d’oeuvres and presentations by international LSU alumni. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple and gold or traditional attire; register here.
Also on Thursday, the Greek Life Block Party will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. along Sorority Row. Hosted by the Panhellenic Council and the Interfraternity Council, this lively event will feature music from Thomas Pate and The Bends, a jambalaya cook-off, food trucks and yard games.

Friday
October 11, brings more excitement with the spirited Homecoming Parade at 5:30 p.m. along West Lakeshore Drive.
That evening, DJ Diesel—better known as basketball legend and pop culture personality Shaquille O’Neal—will headline the Homecoming Concert at the University Recreation Field Complex near Alex Box Stadium. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 8 p.m. The event is free for students, who must present their Tiger Card for entry.
Saturday
The week culminates on October 12, as the LSU Tigers take on the Ole Miss Rebels in Death Valley. Fans can cheer for the Homecoming Court as they walk down Victory Hill before kickoff, at 6:30 p.m.
The 2024 Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned during the halftime ceremony.
