Olympic gold medalist Hezly Rivera announced her verbal commitment to LSU gymnastics Thursday via an Instagram post.
In her post, Rivera said that she committed to LSU on a full athletic scholarship.
“Thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for helping me throughout this process,” Rivera said. “I also want to thank all the girls, coaches, and staff at LSU for everything.”
The 16-year-old gymnast from Oradell, New Jersey competed in the 2024 Olympics, claiming the title of the youngest U.S. Olympian in Paris. While there, she competed on the balance beam and uneven bars.
Rivera is currently a high school junior and will join LSU in the fall of 2026.
The Tigers are the reigning NCAA champions, with the 2024 win being their first.
