The LSU Women’s Basketball Team faced the University of Louisiana-Lafayette at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, extending their unbeaten streak to 12-0.
The Tigers started of rough in the first half of the game, only shopting 49 percent form the field goal. Both teams recorded 5 turnovers within the first five minutes of the game.
Jersey Wolfenbarger, who dominated as a starter, finished the game with a career high 18 points and 15 rebounds. Aneesah Morrow contributed significantly with her 10th double-double of the season, finishing with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Kailyn Gilbert and Mikaylah Willams each added 12 points, while Flau’Jae Johnson scored 11 points.
Tamiah Robinson led the offense of Lousiana, scoring 15 points on 5-12 shooting. Despite the brief scoring encounter, the Cajuns could not overpower LSU’s defensive pressures and strong offense.
The game ended with a score of 85 to 57 in favor of LSU.
LSU has two up coming back to back games. One on December 17th at 5:00 p.m. vs Seton hall and the other on December 19th at 7:00 p.m. vs. the University of Illinois Chicago.
