The LSU Women’s Basketball team beat Auburn, 73 – 63, Sunday afternoon at home. The fighting tigers are 2 – 0 in SEC play and remain undefeated (17 – 0).
LSU made 55.6% from the field, but the team missed all six of their 3-pointers. However, Auburn shot 43.3% from the field and made five of their 13 attempted 3-pointers.
Annesah Morrow earned another double-double with 14 total rebounds and 21 points. She was also the fighting tigers leading scorer. Morrow played fierce and dominant in the paint. Defensively, she had three steals.
Another standout player was Kailyn Gilbert. She scored 17 points for the tigers. Gilbert played well-rounded basketball consistently throughout the entire game.
Auburn’s best player during this matchup was Taylen Collins. She scored 12 points, had three rebounds, and five turnovers. Collins shined on both sides of the court, but she especially made an impact for her team on defense.
LSU will play at ranked Tennessee(15) on Thursday, January 9 at 5:30 P.M. Tennessee is coming off of a close win against Oklahoma.
