LSU announced Friday afternoon that its campus will be closed Tuesday because of the forecast predicting winter weather. Courses will continue online through Moodle.
Per the announcement, Course instructors can choose how they would like to proceed, including moving classes online, adjusting due dates or other options that they communicate with their students. LSU advises all students to regularly check Moodle and their email for updates on their individual courses.
LSU residential halls will remain open. Dining halls will also continue to remain open, but hours may change. Any adjusted hours of operation will be updated on LSU Dining’s website and social media. The LSU Parking & Transportation service website and social media accounts will provide updates on Tuesday’s bus service.
The LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool and University Laboratory School will both be closed Tuesday. LSU online will proceed as usual, and LSU Vet School will communicate with its students and faculty separately.
Non-essential employees do not need to go to campus. Essential employees’ supervisors will be communicating directly on whether they must report to campus Tuesday. The Office of Human Resource Management will be following up with instructions for time entries for employees.
Any faculty that requires to work on a research project during the closure should reach out to the Office of Emergency Preparedness, according to the announcement.
The university will provide updates via LSU email accounts, LSU social media accounts, LSU.edu and LSU emergency texts. The LSU Office of Emergency Preparedness will be monitoring the weather and campus closure providing updates as needed.
