It’s snowing in Baton Rouge for the first time in seven years according to The Advocate and LSU students wasted no time gathering at the Parade Ground.
Students were seen building snowmen, having snowball fights, and playing football in the winter wonderland.
Students native to Louisiana talked about the joy of playing in the snow and compared it to being in a snow globe.
The sense of community was thick in the air and sophomore Alan Barcheck compared the feeling to tailgating.
“This is just such a good way to have community-oriented events because like, tailgates we have all of this, but like this is probably one of the only times outside of that where you can have this type of feeling,” said Barcheck.
