Jake Shane announced his biggest tour yet, “Live With Jake Shane”, with his second stop in Baton Rouge.
The 24-year-old internet personality quickly rose to fame in 2023 by reenacting historical moments in a comedic manner. After fans showed their love for the videos, many began making requests. His following only grew from there. With almost one million followers on Instagram and over 3 million on TikTok, Shane announced his second comedy tour on Instagram.
The night before the tour announcement, Cane’s River Center took to Instagram and TikTok to tease fans by posting a video, hinting at Shane’s stop in Baton Rouge, before officially announcing it on Jan. 28.
Aside from comedy, Shane added podcasting to his agenda in 2024. The popular podcast, “Therapuss with Jake Shane”, puts Shane in a therapist’s position as he interviews a wide variety of guests like FKA Twigs, Alix Earle, Ed Sheeran, Noah Beck, Glen Powell and Katy Perry. The name of the podcast and his username, @passthatpuss, derives from an ongoing inside joke between him and his followers.
Shane’s comedy does not rely on online video content. “Puss & Poems” was Shane’s debut comedy album released in 2024, with features from his close friend Julia Mervis to popstar Tate McRae.
The album reached No. 4 on the Billboard comedy chart in just one day. His podcast is No. 3 on Spotify’s Top Comedy podcasts and No. 8 overall. The young comedian brings a refreshing sense of humor to Gen Z and will eventually share it with Baton Rouge.
Shane will perform his second stop of the North American tour in Baton Rouge at the River Center Theatre on Saturday, March 1. Tickets are on sale Friday, Jan. 31 and presale will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. local time. The Los Angeles native will be donating all proceeds from the Los Angeles show directly to wildfire relief.
