With the LSU Tigers coming off of a 73-80 loss against the Alabama Crimson Tide, they face another powerful SEC opponent, No. 1 Auburn, at home in the PMAC.
“I think when you get off to a slow start your mindset and confidence becomes a huge part,” McMahon said on his team’s toughness Saturday.
With the Tigers gaining their fifth conference loss last week, the pressure to win is increasing. In their loss to Alabama, the Tigers struggled from the three-point line netting only three from behind the arc.
“When you’re not shooting the ball as well as you would like from three, all I know to do is get in the gym and shoot more, get your confidence, and find ways to step up and make big shots in games.”
Starter Corey Chest has been a significant playmaker for the Tigers on both sides of the ball. Chest finished with 18 rebounds and 12 points last week, making it his fourth double double of the season.
“It’s not everyday you get to play the No. 1 team in the country on your home floor,” McMahon said.
The Fighting Tigers will look to improve on their record at home this week against a talented Auburn team with Guard Vyctorious Miller potentially making his return to the court.
