History has been made as President Donald Trump took the oath for his second term as president of the United States but this historic day had some interesting moments.
The inauguration of President Trump took place on Jan. 20, which was the same day as Martin Luther King Day.
This overlap has only ever happened twice in history. The first happened with former President Bill Clinton in 1993 and the second happened with former President Barack Obama in 2013.
However, President Trump faced backlash more than anybody, with the public media expressing how they felt about this circumstance.
During his inaugural address, Trump declared a national energy emergency.
“That is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill,” Trump said.
The phrase “drill, baby, drill” originates from a republican campaign slogan in 2008, which was used to advocate the need for energy increase independence for the country.
As President Trump begins his second term in the White House, we will get to see how he will address the challenges and opportunities that have yet to come.
