After a historic rookie season, Jayden Daniels was named the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The Washington Commanders’ quarterback was drafted second overall in the 2024 NFL Draft after winning the Heisman the season before at LSU.
Daniels set records with the highest completion percentage by a rookie quarterback, the most rushing yards by a rookie quarterback and the fourth-highest passer rating by a rookie quarterback. He also led all rookie quarterbacks in passer rating, completion percentage, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. He ranked second in passing yards and touchdown passes among rookies.
In his rookie campaign, Daniels tallied 4,390 passing yards, 1,026 rushing yards, 30 passing touchdowns, and seven rushing touchdowns.
