Louisiana State University Law Professor Ken Levy had his first court hearing on Monday, for his controversial political comments.
During his teaching about police and public interactions, Levy slipped in some comments about how he felt about Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry and President Donald Trump.
Outside the courthouse, LSU student protesters showed up wearing red to show their support for Levy and make a statement as to why he should be left alone.
His lawyers are arguing that is a violation against his free speech rights and claims that he was teaching how law students should be able to think critically.
As the legal experts continue to battle it out in the courtroom, the future of whether Professor Levy can return to a LSU classroom is still up in the air for debate.
