With Valentines Day right around the corner, many people are in search of the perfect bouquet of flowers for their significant other. This local floral business right on LSU’s campus might be a good pick.
LSU student and owner of The Flower Vault, Cypress Washington is a junior at LSU majoring in Dental Hygiene. While balancing her classes and social life, she manages to complete an average of 4 orders a day but with the holiday of love in season, those orders have increased.
The Flower Vault offers customized bouquets that can include glitter, custom color, sashes, and so much more. For some people keeping flowers alive is hard, so this floral business offers eternal roses, which are roses made out of ribbon.
Cypress tries to ensure all of her customers are receiving fresh flowers. She visits Albertsons or uses a vendor before every order to make sure the quality of the flowers is good.
“It is also very rewarding to see how it impacts my customers for important events and occasions like I can put a smile on their faces,” Washington said.
Back in July this past summer, Washington gained inspiration from other florists she saw on TikTok and an idea that began as just a small spark blossomed into a well-going business.
“If you just believe in yourself and put your best foot forward then people will support you.”
Most of Cypress’ clientele are LSU students. To get her business out there more, she does pop-ups. A recent pop-up she did was at this past week Wild Out Wednesday in front of LSU Student Union.
