Head Coach Brian Kelly spoke with the media about the confidence levels of the LSU Football team after they beat New Mexico 38-0, which marks their third win in a row.
After Jayden Daniels left the game due to an injury, Garrett Nussmeier stepped up to be a leader on the offense. Coach Kelly said Daniels could have gotten back on the field at the end of the game, but he was not needed as the Tigers had essentially secured the win.
Coach Kelly complimented several receivers who had a big opportunity for receptions against New Mexico in Kayshon Boutte’s absence.
Although the LSU defense is struggling with injuries, Coach Kelly gave his compliments to them and acknowledged how difficult it is to shut out any team in college football.
“The guys really rallied,” Coach Kelly said. “They did a great job.”
Coach Kelly hopes that all of the starters who are out due to injuries recover and return as soon as possible, but he is confident the players who are filling their positions can get the job done.
