The LSU Football team is gearing up to face Tennessee in an 11 a.m. game on Saturday in Death Valley.
After a win against Auburn on the road and being ranked in the AP Top 25 College Football Poll, the Tigers’ confidence is high.
However, they know they have room for improvement.
“It’s big news,” safety Jay Ward said. “We can see the team moving in progress but we’re not where we want to be yet.”
The team is working on their technique, especially in the passing game.
Wide receiver Malik Nabers talked to the media about his relationship with Jayden Daniels. He said the two go home after practice and always come back the next day with the intention of cleaning up the previous day’s mistakes.
Nabers also admitted his performance has been sloppy at times and he is practicing sticking to his routes and fully executing them.
Saturday’s matchup against Tennessee may be the toughest game the Tigers have played so far this season, as the Volunteers are ranked in the Top 10 college football teams.
Linebacker Micah Baskerville spoke to the media about how the team has been working on discipline in practice this week to prepare for Saturday’s challenge.
As far as an 11 a.m. kickoff goes, however, Baskerville said the team is not phased.
“I’m ready to play,” Baskerville said. “We can play at 2 a.m., whenever.”
Jayden Daniels has been a focal point on the LSU offense so far this season for being a dual-threat quarterback.
However, players told the media Coach Brian Kelly wants to see him take more shots down the field against Tennessee.
“For me it’s just being decisive,” Daniels said. “It’s a mindset.”
The Tigers are looking for their fifth win in a row against the Volunteers on Saturday and seem to be ready for the challenge.
