The LSU Football team spoke to the media after their first loss since the season opener against Florida State. The Tigers lost to the Tennessee Volunteers 40-13, falling short on both sides of the ball.
Wide Receiver Jaray Jenkins told the media he thinks that while the team should strive to learn from their mistakes and work to improve this week during practice, they cannot dwell on the loss.
He also mentioned consistency has been a struggle for the offense, but he is confident that the team can push through their issues and be successful through the rest of the season.
LSU will face the Florida Gators on Saturday and look to make a comeback on the road.
“We had a tough loss,” Defensive End Ali Gaye said. “That’s over with; that’s behind us now. It’s a new week; we’re turning a new leaf and as a team we’re trying to grow from that.”
The last time the LSU faced the Gators in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, COVID-19 regulations limited attendance and their matchup against Florida last season was at home. They may be 1-0 on the road so far, but playing with the notorious Gator Chomp in full swing could pose a challenge for the Tigers.
“Coming from UL, not every game was packed on the road,” Cornerback Mekhi Garner said. “Here, the fans are locked in just as much as the players.”
