Head Coach Brian Kelly spoke to the media Thursday about the team’s matchup against No. 7 Ole Miss.
The players are starting to understand how intentional they have to be each week to improve and prepare on their team play.
“We prepared to the point where we can win on Saturday, there is no doubt,” Brian Kelly said. “I would like to see our guys understand that every single day matters. From the first week to this week, we are so much better in how we prepare.”
Kelly believes that being able to tackle on the perimeter will slow down Ole Miss’ explosive offense.
“There’s a lot of versatility,” Brian Kelly said. “They clearly have the ability to run the football and push the ball down the field. The quarterback, as i mentioned, is a dual threat, so you can’t take away everything. You have to be sound defensively.”
Running Back Armoni Goodwin will play on Saturday.
“Armoni practiced well,” Kelly said. “It’s a really story in terms of procedure. For them to do a surgical repair hamstring on him to be available to play, our medical team did an incredible job. I’m excited for him.”
