LSU Head Football Coach Brian Kelly spoke to the media Tuesday after the Tigers defeated No. 7 Ole Miss 45-20 in Death Valley. Despite a big win over a top 10 team, Coach Kelly was surprised fans stormed the field. He hopes to keep their current winning streak over competitive teams alive.
Kelly acknowledged the pattern of allowing touchdowns within the first two minutes in the last three games. Although the defense dominated the second half of the game against Ole Miss, he said allowing early touchdowns is a defensive mental issue they hope to clean up before facing Alabama.
Recruiting is back in full swing as the coaching staff looks to build the most versatile program they can. Kelly looks forward to getting his first full recruiting experience at LSU with the upcoming class of freshmen.
Colby Richardson has proved himself this season as he earned his starting position in the secondary. According to Kelly, Richardson pleasantly surprised the coaching staff with his growth since fall camp and his raw athletic ability.
The Tigers have a bye week to rest before facing No. 6 Alabama in Death Valley on Nov. 5, which will be their fifth SEC matchup in a row.
