Three LSU Women’s Basketball players entered the 2023 WNBA draft to find out where they will start their next chapter: Alexis Morris, LaDazhia Williams and Jasmine Carson.
Guard Alexis Morris was the only player to travel to New York City to attend the event.
Forward LaDazhia Williams was selected by the Indiana Fever as the No. 17 overall pick.
Williams only played for LSU for one season after transferring from the University of Missouri, but her contribution to this year’s LSU team did not go unnoticed. She averaged 9.9 points and six rebounds this season, playing for an average of 28 minutes.
Morris was selected as the No. 22 overall pick by the Connecticut Sun.
Throughout her college career, Morris played for Baylor, Rutgers, Texas A&M and LSU. Despite never staying in one place for longer than two years, Morris finally found success at LSU.
During her final collegiate season, Morris averaged 15.4 points and 4.1 assists per game. She played for an average of 33.3 minutes per game and made 78.2% of her free-throws.
Most notably, both Morris and Williams helped lead LSU to the first National Championship title in the program’s history alongside Head Coach Kim Mulkey.
