The No. 1 LSU Baseball team reigns undefeated against the Alabama Crimson Tide this season after winning the final game of the series 13-11.
In the first inning was uneventful for the Tigers, but Alabama earned one run.
Catcher and first baseman Jared Jones hit the first of many home runs for the Purple and Gold in the second inning, which also allowed Infielder Jordan Thompson to score.
After the Tide struck out again in the third, Dylan Crews hit the second homer for LSU to right field.
To regain their lead, Alabama scored three runs in the fourth.
In the fifth inning, the Tide extended their lead by three which included a homer hit by Drew Williamson. By the bottom of the fifth, the score was 7-3.
However, they did not keep their lead for long. The Tigers scored six runs in the fifth which left them leading by two.
The Tide added one more to their score in the sixth so that they only trailed by one.
In the seventh, one run for Alabama and one for the Bayou Bengals tied the game 9-9.
The eighth inning was all Purple and Gold. After homers from both Jordan Thompson and Paxton Kling, they led 13-9.
Last ditch efforts from Alabama showed through a home run hit by Tommy Seidl which also allowed Ed Johnson to score. However, they fell short after a flyball which ended the game.
In their next competition, LSU will face Southeastern on Tuesday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
