The No. 7 LSU Beach Volleyball team hosted the Tulane Green Wave in the last matchup of the Tiger Beach Challenge on Sunday and came out with a 3-2 victory.
Tulane’s Sara Hall and Molly Trodd took on LSU graduate student Gabi Bailey and senior Amber Haynes, winning the first set 21-17. The Sandy Tigs came back to win the second set 21-18, but the Green Wave took a 15-12 win in the final set.
Senior Reilly Allred and junior Parker Bracken defeated Tulane’s Savka Popovic and Trinity Jackson 21-13 and 23-21.
Laura Torruella and Sam O’Connor from Tulane took court three from the Purple and Gold’s Emily Meyer and Ashush Yali 21-19 and 21-18.
LSU junior Ella Larkin and freshman Amelia Taft took court four over Tulane’s Skylar Ensign and Samantha Green 21-23, 21-14 and 15-10.
Brooke Blutreich and Skylar Martin from LSU defeated Tulane’s McKenzie Cutler and Amelia Mullen 21-14 and 21-17.
Through the weekend, the Sandy Tigs went undefeated, winning all five of their matches in the Tiger Beach Challenge.
Their next slate of games is set to be played in Manhattan Beach, California where they will face California, UCLA, Loyola Marymount and Hawai’i, who are all top 10 teams in the country.
The first of those matches will be against California and will start at 11:30 a.m. CT on Friday, March 15.
