LSU Men’s Tennis was the 13th seed entering this year’s SEC tournament, making them the lowest seed ever to advance to the semifinals.
After winning their first SEC match against South Carolina on March 1, they went on an 11-game losing streak that lasted over a month. The Tigers finished SEC play with a 1-11 record and entered the tournament as the lowest seed.
The last time LSU’s program made it this far in the tournament was 2007, when Head Coach Danny Bryan was a player on the team.
After losing the doubles point, the Purple and Gold put up a good fight in the singles matches.
Despite close matches on several courts, Kentucky was able to secure their final three points with wins over Stefan Latinovic, Alessio Vasquez and Julien Penzlin.
Ultimately, the top seeded Kentucky Wildcats stepped up their play and defeated the Tigers 4-0.
