Ahead of the battle for the No. 1 spot in the SEC, LSU Football Head Coach Brian Kelly spoke with the media Thursday about where the team stands before heading to College Station.
“We just need to continue to be who we have been and not be susceptible to doing things like we did earlier in the year,” Kelly said. “I think the guys have settled into, really more than anything else, trusting the guy next to him.”
Coach Kelly also mentioned wide receiver Chris Hilton practiced in full capacity on Thursday and they are listing him as questionable for Saturday.
Kyle Field is known for its crowd noise, including the “12th Man” legend, and Kelly told media the team has been practicing with loud music all week to prepare.
Kelly also touched on the similarities between LSU and Texas A&M, with both teams losing their season openers, going undefeated in SEC play and showing significant growth as the season has progressed.
“They’re a different team really,” Kelly said. “They look different from game one to right now. It’s a body of work you’re looking for, and in particular, what have they looked like these past few weeks?”
The media also asked Kelly if he and the team talked about what outcome of this game could mean.
“You got to go to Texas A&M, you got to go into that stadium… and you got to go take something from them,” Kelly said. “And they’re not going to give it to you, you got to go take it.”
The matchup will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at Kyle Field.
