Head Coach Jay Johnson spoke to the media after LSU’s 2-0 win over UCA.
He touched on the debuts of Luke Holman and Steven Milam, as well as some other key points of the game.
“I thought he threw more strikes than even got called,” Coach Johnson said about Holman’s first start as a Tiger.
Johnson was impressed with the Alabama transfer who finished the day with ten strikeouts, one walk and just three hits.
“He’s a great player, he’s played great over the last month,” Coach Johnson said about Milam, who also got his first start.
Johnson talked about the adversity Milam has overcome in a short time as only a freshman who was playing high school ball in Las Cruces, New Mexico not so long ago.
Johnson also mentioned that Tommy White looked more comfortable today at the plate. Johnson chalked up the overall lack of offense to the chilly conditions.
