Former LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is being rewarded for his brave actions at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl Parade in Kansas City.
Edwards-Helaire went out of his way to shelter 13-year-old Zach Cotten, who had been separated from his parents in the panic of an active shooter situation.
For his bravery, the Uvalde Foundation for Kids has named him a recipient of the National Heroism Award.
“Just wanted to thank Zach for trusting me and knowing I’ll protect him,” Edwards-Helaire said on Facebook.
This instance is the latest example Edwards-Helaire’s bravery, as he recently revealed he is pursuing a career in nursing.
