LSU Baseball looked to get its first three-game sweep of the 2024 season this weekend, but ultimately fell short with a 7-5 loss.
The Tigers won their second SEC series of the season against Auburn, earning themselves back-to-back series wins. LSU won 5-0 on Friday night and scored a walk-off 4-3 victory on Saturday.
Jay Johnson gave freshman Kade Anderson the start. Anderson earned four runs right off the bat in the top of the first inning. He was replaced with Will Hellmers who gave up one more before dragging the team to the bottom of the inning.
Griffin Herring came in to start the second, later followed up by Christian Little, Justin Loer and Sam Dutton.
Despite their best efforts, including a three-run homer from Steven Milam, the early 5-0 hole proved too big for the Tigers to climb out of.
LSU will play Grambling on Tuesday, and then will host No. 1 Texas A&M over the weekend.
