LSU Baseball took down Ole Miss by a score of 5-1 despite a rain delay in the first game of the weekend series.
Gage Jump started on the mound for the Tigers and allowed just a solo homer through six innings. Coach Johnson said he would have pitched deeper into the game if it were not for a weather delay that came in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Tigers’ offense was led by Tommy White who recorded three hits on the day with one RBI and his first career triple.
LSU will play game two against Ole Miss on Friday at noon. The Tigers need to sweep the series to get to 13 conference wins and give themselves the best chance of making the postseason.
