History repeated itself Friday night as the LSU Soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss against Florida for the second time in two years.
The LSU Soccer program remains winless at home against the University of Florida after a dominating performance by the Gators.
After taking care of the ball on the defensive side, the Gators now sit at 10-0-1 when playing in Baton Rougue.
“They did a really, really good job in terms of pressing high up the field. I think we made good decisions on when to bypass that or when to break that press,” said Hudson.
Meanwhile LSU struggled defensively as Gator freshman Megan Hinnenkamp finished the night with two goals while teammates Julianne Leskauskas and Anna DeLeon each had a goal of their own.
“The third goal was a really poorly defended set piece moment, so that one is something we will have to get on the training ground and address, but I think the first couple were just key errors,” said Hudson.
Despite the loss, Tiger fans continued to cheer on their team even after the clock hit triple zeros.
“I don’t know how many fans were here tonight, but I think it was our best crowd of the season for probably our worst performance of the season,” said Hudson. “Not ideal, but I know that they’ll stay loyal, and I know that they will come back out. The next time they show up and we are at home, we will respond well and give them something to cheer about.”
With the loss, the Tigers move to 7-4-1 on the season, and will began preparing for their road trip to Columbia, South Carolina on October 5 to take on the Gamecocks.
