Before showtime between No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 2 LSU, Tigers gymnast Chase Brock suffered an injury while warming up on the floor. LSU head coach Jay Clark carried Brock to the medical staff while she sobbed.
“It’s very, very emotional thing for us, because Chase is very special, and she’s loved by her teammates and her coaches,” Clark said.
Clark doesn’t have a timetable for Brock but doesn’t sound optimistic.
“We won’t know for sure, but I don’t think it looks good,” Clark said. “I’ve been doing this a long time. That didn’t look good.”
Clark says that Brock will receive an MRI within the following days before they can determine the severity of her injury.
“She finally really gotten herself in a good spot and was doing great things this year, so I know she’s devastated where all are for her,” Clark said. “As I’ve told our team in the past when we’ve had injuries, you honor your teammates with your actions, not with your emotions, and I think our team did that tonight.”
