LSU Softball finished off their sweep of the Purple and Gold Challenge with a 7-4 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies.
The Tigers were coming in hot on a 4-win streak on the weekend and didn’t slow down at all for the Hokies.
Sydney Berzon pitched a strong game, striking out nine batters and earning a season-high, while only giving up four runs to the Hokies through seven innings.
The team recorded double-digit hits for the fourth consecutive game, recording 10 against Virginia Tech in the win.
Catcher Maci Bergeron led the Tigers’ offense with a 3-4 performance at the plate, notching 2B, HR, and 1 RBI.
Behind Bergeron Tori Edwards, Danieca Coffey, and Jadyn Laneux helped run up the score as they all grabbed 1 RBI a piece.
The Tigers have started the season perfect and will look to keep momentum up as the LSU Invitational is set to begin February 21st against the Penn State Nittany Lions.
